I have been advised that a couple of show's judges have changed. If there are any amendments please let me know asap.

For many years I've relied on Roy Page to keep the Ticket Winners page updated for me, and I think you'll all agree that he has done a brilliant job. For the start of the new season he has asked me if he can step down from this task, but I am pleased to say that Debbie Back has agreed to take this on.

This year's show has been & gone. My thanks to everyone who helped before, during & after the show.
Congratulations to all the placed teams & hoped everyone enjoyed their day.

Will there be another show ? The jury is still out on that decision at this time.

There were some chairs found in the pre parade area where the Introductory class was. I couldn't bring them home with me & if anyone is missing them they should contact the Racecourse & they were left in the Owners & trainers building.

We have a few problems this year, first of all and very important Steve has retired and a new groundsman has taken his place who is much stricter than easy going Steve. On no account is anyone allowed to drive on the pitches, he will be there and watching. If this does happen and we loose the venue because of it I can categorically say now I will not look for another venue and the show will finish. It is now up to everyone to obey this rule anyone being stroppy will be asked to leave. Next the rugby club has reached some final and Saturday will be parking cars on the gravel at the entrance to the show then going off in coaches to where the match is, luckily not here. In the evening they will be in the clubhouse celebrating or not whichever. Anyway we cannot hold the quiz there, was going to do it underneath the balcony but it may be noisy or other problems so I have decided to cancel it which is a shame because it is always popular. We normally have a collection for the special class so this year I will have a box on my table at secretaries tent for donations. Julie and Neil who park vehicles have nothing to do with our club they just come each year and help which is very much appreciated. Because of all these problems anyone not going where told or verbally abusing Julie and Neil will be asked to leave! Really sorry to go on about things but at least we can hold the show and decent weather is forecast. Please do not cause us any more problems.

Brenda Robert’s is unable to judge the class and Nicki Fildes-Moss has offered to judge it with Peter Height stewarding, thank you both.

I would like to thank everyone for their lovely comments following my recent post regarding the obedience show at Stanhope, they are all much appreciated.
The team and I would just like to say thank you to all the people who have given up their days to judge and steward over the years so that the show could be kept going for this long.
Thanks to Hedda, Liz and Sharon for coming to clean the rings before the show, so they were clear of sheep poo!!
Big thank you to Janice, my go to with any problems and for doing the schedule, catalogue and draws, much appreciated.
Not sure what next year holds, we shall have to wait and see.

Due to a larger than anticipated entry the Pre-Beginner and Beginner classes will now run at the same time not one after the other as originally advertised. Both classes will start at 10.00. Janet Aldridge will now judge Pre-Beginner and Sam Rice will judge Beginners.

It is with much sadness that I post to say that Robert passed at the weekend. Many Obedience folk who competed in the early days will remember him and his wife Sheila. Robert had his first GSD in 1966 and he duly went along fro pet training at a club in Acton. There he met a guy who suggested he might want to try competitive Obedience. That was the start of a journey that would take them to a whole new world. They joined Greenford club, where Robert later would become an Instructor, and then joined the addictive world of Obedience shows. They made so many friends along the way and had a wonderful time together competing. Sheila had her first Sheltie in1969 and is still training her beloved Cassie to this day. Robert sadly lost his sight in the nineties and competing became impossible but his love for dogs remained til the very end. Sheila and Robert were married for sixty nine years and I know Sheila will miss him hugely
Our love and thoughts are with Sheila and her family at this very sad time

Love the look of the new site, however, not at all keen on using American date format (year, month day) think this may be quite confusing for some of our older members ... of which I am one!

(i) For those that use the "watched" facility on the schedules page. You can now set a Preferred Schedules Page Style in the Settings page. So you can set your view of the schedules page to: 1- All Shows New Format, 2 - All Shows Old Format, 3 - Watched Shows Only New Format, or 4 - Watched Shows Only Old Format. When you've set your preference the schedules will always open in that format.

(ii) I've now also removed the sorting capability, and changed the range selection to [25, 50, 100, 200] with default 100.

(iii) As I've removed the sorting, it means I can now change the dates back to DD/MM/YYYY format.

(iv) You'll also notice I've also put back the flashing NEW against Shows that now have Schedules added to them. These flash for a week. (I did get asked "how do you know if schedules are available if you're not a website member?". The flashing NEW is how you know!)

(v) I've stopped it skipping back to the top of the page when you change the Watch status. (Still problem with shows on the second page, but works on the old format as there is only one page.)

I've been asked to have a database of WINNERS on the site.

This would be a huge task to integrate within the site, but I have customised a freely available 'package' sourced from DaDaBIK and hosted on my own server.

It's accessible from the SHOW REPORTS menu as item 'WINNERS Database'.

The public access is using username 'info' and password 'info'.

What I intend is to supply Show Secretaries with their own usernames & password which will allow them to enter their show's winners.

On Behalf of the remaining club and Committee members of Plymouth DTC

I regret to announce that following the sad and sudden passing of Rita Goodfellow, the remaining committee and members of Plymouth DTC have made the difficult decision to cancel all future obedience shows. It has not been easy to do so, and the many offers of help were appreciated but it is not viable for a number of reasons.
The support given by everyone to help, judge and generally support the shows over the years has been tremendous but it is now time to call it a day.
If you had agreed to judge at any of the future shows please can you contact me to let me know. The Committee are in the process of getting all the clubs paperwork from Rita’s family and will be in contact with judges etc in due course.
Please also direct any questions to me at this time.

I am looking for volunteers to fill the last three positions pretty please. I need one A judge, one B judge and one C judge. If camping it is free for yourself and steward Friday, Saturday and Sunday night, plus a bottle of wine and expenses. We are having mixed classes this year and once I have judges the schedule can go out.

They were for my older collie who had kidney failure.
